I regularly "preen" my chins, aka take out the dead fur. They seem to enjoy it and I think of it as a bonding time.

You can sew it inside the liner, so there is fleece on both sides.

You can put grommets in the corner and attach it with clips to the side of the cage so they cannot drag it around... My girls are pretty well behaved and they don't turn it up unless they want to play really bad. Then they will go up to the front of the cage and roll it up looking for the door LOL. You can also make loops in the fabric (I will get a picture up of the hammock I made) and attach clips to them.
If you make fleece liners you might want to go to Target or somewhere else and get some cheap towels to put in the center. This will help with absorbency, because fleece isn't all that absorbent.

Neosporin
Blu Kote
Paper towels
Gauze
A binder with Vets names, phone numbers, addresses, and a map of the location (my normal vet and an emergency vet)
Also in the binder: How to identify different ailments (like giardia and ringworm)
Thermometer (one to measure the air temp)
And I am going to get:
Eye dropper
Syringe
Lifeline
Critical care
Try to travel on cooler days if you have to travel with your chinchillas
Keep a thermometer in the car with your chin so you can monitor the temp.
My basement pretty much stays at a constant temp year round (up to maybe 75 in the summer and 60 in the winter)
My chins and pigs are also in a pretty safe spot so the would be relatively safe in case of a tornado. If I am there I can put them in hards sided carrier and put them under the wooden desk where they will be the safest.
We have a back up generator so we can run necessities such as the fridge so we can give them the slabs and cool water to drink
Ok, sorry to take over the thread, but could you help keep a chin cool by putting cold water on their ears?

-A couple of marble slabs in the freezer (incase the power goes out and it is hot)
-Also If you have an basement that is actually under the ground, it will stay cool without a freestanding air conditioner, so have a space for the chins down there?

It may cause respiratory problems and it is not the best quality. Blue Cloud is much better quality.

She could just be sleeping or she would be overheating. If her ears are red she is most likely overheating. I would get her to a cooler room.

Very rarely will a chin need to be bathed. I know one person took on two chins so covered in dust from rust they looked beige (they were standard). I think they gave them a just to get all the rust off of them. They said the water was red from it.
Chins are able to get wet but they have such thick fur it would require a long time do blow dry them dry.

Well, first of all you need to know the seams should not show. Meaning, you sew most of the edge, and then flip it inside out. I am not much of a sewing person, but I am getting there. I haven't ever made a tube, but you could pm Gella and ask her. She is a sewing wizard!

That is referring to a pregnant momma. If her and her kits get on the wheel at the same time, she could injure her kits.

I would not recommend buying a wheel less than 15" since anything smaller will cause the chin to arch their back. That can lead to heath problems. The Chin Spin is a great wheel, and so is the flying saucer.
