Title: Bleach question
Post by: mojito on July 25, 2013, 04:13:35 PM
So my mom has sprayed bleach water (very diluted but I'm not sure the concentration) and sprayed directly on certain areas of the carpet across the room from them. She said she sprayed very close to the carpet, and immediately put a fan on it to air it away from them. But they were in my room as well as hay, food, toys, etc. it doesn't smell in here now however I'm worried about them and their stuff and I don't know what to do!!

I'm not worried about it. It is actually safe to clean a cage with bleach. It is the chlorine fumes that are dangerous and those go away once it's evaporated. The other component is a simple soap. Unless it got sprayed directly onto your chinchillas' food there should be no problems at all.

Whew thanks!! 2 days ago I shanpooed the carpet with bleach but they weren't in there when I did that, I was just really worried about their food becoming dangerous to them after she sprayed it..thanks so much!!
