That's great!!  I didn't know that show chins do not need a pedigree either. There are some really nice looking chins out there that do not have a pedigree.  Of course, we all know if you don't know the history, you really shouldn't breed them, but it's ok to show them?  Is that right?   I'm confusing myself......... ::)

You can go to www.mutationchinchillas.com  That is the MCBA website.
You can also go to www.empresschinchilla.com  That is the Empress Chinchilla website.

They have show listings.   :::grins::

Chinchillas aren't pedigreed like dogs and other animals.  Any chinchilla can be shown you just need to know its color and birthday.  If its under 8 months you really need an exact date but if its well over 8 months old a general estimation should be fine.  This is because under 8 months chinchillas are still growing and changing and so age can make a difference of how its judged.  Once they are full grown what you see is pretty much what you get. :)

Each show is different.  You can usually show up and register at the door but most have pre-registration which is cheaper.

You just show up usually to show you have to be a member but you can usually become a member at the shows. then there is a fee usually it is 5.00 per animal shown. It is a great experiance but older chinchillas tend to oxidize and don't do as well most show chinchillas are between 8-14 months of age. I would go to a show and watch if you have the opportunity to it can be a lot of fun
