Hey All,
As sad as it makes me I need to find another home for my little Ingram. He is a great pet, but I dont have the time to give him the attention that he deserves. I think that he is in need of a friend, and I certainly dont have the time for two. I thought about selling him on craiglist but I would much rather him go to a current chin owner who has other friends for him to play with.
He is a little over a year old. I got him from Petsmart. He is a super happy little guy, just lonely.
Please if you are interested let me know!

This is a little off topic, but I am kinda new to Chins and curious to know more about them. In no way am I interested in breeding, but after reading all the posts I cant help but wonder why do Chins seem to have so many problems with deliveries and kits? These issues seem to be very common. Is there a specific reason why?

Health / Hair ring question???

So this is really embarassing but I really need to ask and see whats up. So today I noticed Ingram was messing with his boy stuff and when I looked closer he had actually pulled it out a couple inches. He almost seemed to be biting at it. Is this a sign that he might have a hair ring or was it simply entertainment??? Now if it is a hair ring, is it possible he will take care of it himself or do we need to go to the vet? I was just slightly caught off guard I have never seen him do this. Thanks

I have the just plain flying saucer that you buy at petsmart. Ingram loves it! I know you arent supposed to have plastic in their cage but he has never messed with it, I keep plenty of chew things for him. Its super quiet, he will run on it for hours.
I have never had a problem with it flipping over like someone else said, I did however have a problem with it moving and banging up against the side of the cage though
talk about annoying! I mounted it to a piece of wood, to hold it in place in the corner of his cage. All is good now and as a bonus he likes to chew on the wood.

Thanks Debbie! You're the best! He is still young so that would explain why they aren't full on yellow, but they sure are nice and straight!

I wondering if I might need to take my Ingram to the vet to get his teeth checked out. I am so scared about him developing tooth problems like so many other Chins. I going to list whats been going on if any of it sounds odd please let me know what I should do.
-When I first got him he HATED the lava rock chew things, litterally would push them out of his cage, now he goes through a whole one in about three days.
-I have these things called Chubes in his cage, they are cardboard tunnels. They are safe to chew but he has never really messed with them untill the past couple days. He is chewing it like crazy!
-I keep those hanging calcium granola/seed like things in his cage, he loves them, goes through two a week, but recently he has stopped chewing it all together. Not even a little.
All other eating and bathroom patterns are the same. He is just as active as always. Is it possible he is just bored wth his typical chew things like the granola and trying to switch things up or do we have the start of a tooth problem?

I have a few chin chillers and freeze them and rotate them out he loves them. I like the frozen water in the jar idea. The chin chillers seem to get room temp so fast but I bet the jar would stay frozen longer. Is there anyway to keep the jar from sweating as it melts? I know water is good for their fur.

So here in Tennessee it is always so hot and humid during the summer! I want to make sure I am prepared and have what I need to keep my little Ingram nice and cool. Any tips or tricks or anything I need to buy to make sure he stays comfortable? Thanks

Haha Ingram has been known to sleep on his back like a dog. Boy did that freak me out the first time I saw it. He has lately gotten into sleeping with his body in his tunnel that is sitting on a shelf but will hang his head out of the tube and off the shelf. Crazy little things.

Its too high up on his head for it to be something like that, although he does stick his nose outside the cage alot. So cute.
I think it is either
A: He has gone potty on the top level of his cage and it has dripped on him..yuck!
or
B: He has those hanging granola like seed chew things in his cage and maybe he was chewing on it and it hit him on the head while it was wet from his slobber.

Q & A / Crunchy fur?

Ingram has a few tiny little clusters of fur right in between his eyes that seem to be coming lose. It almost seems like he has gotten something sticky on him and he is trying to get it off but cant get to it. I checked and there is no blood. I can tell it is bothering him, and Im sure I am bothering him by constantly picking at it. Would it be ok to wipe it off with a damp rag? Thanks

He only gets a dust bath twice a week. They have been like that since ive had him. Ill try the tips thanks!
