Kits should not have alot of playtime, they are still growing and shouldn't use up all their energy at playtime.  Wheels are not recommended till after around 6 months either.

check out chinchillas.com for the silver surfer, they are a little smaller than the chin spin but a little cheaper.

Check out the classifieds section for chins for sale.  You could always post what you are looking for there too I guess.

Just be aware that if this does not cool them and they get overheated they can die of heatstroke.

It is very possible that another chin bit off the toe.  I had that happen here. One chin was out and the other was in the cage, but it can happen even if their cages are just too close together.

Is the father a black velvet then? Yes pictures please!

General Breeder Chat / Color question
« on: May 08, 2011, 05:43:33 PM »
I was wondering if a standard grey, parents are both beige, if bred with a standard have a chance of having beige kits or will they be all standard?

If you can feel babies moving, you should have kits somewhere within the next two weeks.

Most likely the 2 are pink white, do they have pink ears?  Probably the other is beige and with change color some as it matures.  Pictures would help but flashes make it hard to tell.

Not sure from the picture what is going on but I would definately get a better quality food to transition over to.  There is a whole list of quality foods like Mazuri and Manna Pro.  Also try buying a good quality dust like blue sparkle or blue cloud.  It will take a while for them to look better unless there is furchewing going on, which will probably not get better.  Jean sells quality items and ship very cheap this is a link to her store www.tjschinchillasupplies.com  Good luck and I'm sure other can give more insight and help.  Good luck!

Breeding 101 / Re: Question for the Multiple Chin Owners :)

Just because they were together at one time does not mean they will except her back.  You still have to reintroduce.  Sometimes its easy, sometimes not, good luck.
