I have a chinchilla that is almost 3 months old and want to make sure I am being an awsome mom. Is there any kind of reference I can use to make sure she is growing properly? Her current weight is 429 grams.

There is no chart, Just like people it depends on their body size/type

I didn't think so, never hurts to ask though! ;)

Sounds like a good weight for that age.

There is nothing to be sure just see if the fur is shinny and his teeths are yellow or orange his ears are cold his foots are not dry if his yes are not with tears and if his "poo" is normal :) some people say that if they are happy their tail will be up but i don't quite believe in that.

That is a good weight for that age. We got our first chins last summer and we are up to 18 now. I have been keeping a monthly weight chart for each one. Of the females that were under 3 months of age when we got them, their weights at 3 months ranged from 300 grams to 452 grams. A lot depends on color too; some of the mutations like ebony, sapphire, and violet may develop more slowly. Our violet was only 300 grams at 3 months and our ebony was only 325 grams at 3 months. Both were over 500 grams by 6 months of age.
