Conformation and Quality / Beige and an ebony

So I have a begie and an ebony together. I know both are over a year old, and I am fine with them not breeding. I was just reading the thread about brown velets. And there was a ton of great info in there. Now I have a good idea on why my two chins are small. My beige and ebony are only half as big as my two standards. I really need to post pics of chins on here. Anyway reading all that info makes me think I should seperate them. Sadly I can't do that until I move in the spring time. The other sad thing is that these two chins are great friends... Should they be seporated so they don't produce bad kits?

Do female chinchillas have a menstral cycle like other animals or people? Because this late morning I found a blob of bloody looking stuff, and I am concerned as I have never seen this before.

Hello everyone! I just found this forum, and I can't wait to learn more about my fave pet. I own four of them, two standard greys, and one male beige, and one ebony female. One of my goals is to learn about breeding. And one day I hope to become a breeder myself.

Breeding 101 / Breeding pair and new neighbors?

I have four chins. Two per cage, and I have my cages layered. So one on top of the other. My standard pair that I bought together have had two litter of kits. And by now they should be due for another litter, but my question is will they stop breeding for a while if they have neighbors they are not used to? When they had their first two litters with me they we liveing at my boyfriends place, until I was able to make room for them at mine. So I was just wondering if new neighbors would change anything?
