Title: baby chin peeing everywhere
Post by: Beth on October 11, 2008, 10:36:35 AM
Hi All!  My baby and Lulu are getting along wonderfuly, and have started to bond with me a little bit, too. However, the baby pees all over the place in the cage...in the hay, in their hammock/bed, and in the litter box.  I've tried leaving some "used" litter in a fresh pan, but it doesn't work.  I've also scrubbed the cage and done that again, to no avail. Anyone know what's going on or suggestions of what to try next? ::shrug::

Thanks!!

Beth :::grins::

You are doing all that can be done to encourage the chin to pee in the litter box.  You might want to try putting the litter box in a location where she pees.

Do they share a cage yet? I often find that chins learn from each other. It is possible that the baby will learn from Lulu, but it coud also go the other way...

Thanks you guys!  Yes, they are a happy couple these days ::).  Shanti (the baby) only peed in her litter box when she was alone.  Now that they're together it's in different places in the cage...even though the litter box is in the same corner.  Hopefully she will eventually learn to just go there... ::shrug::

Congrats on  your new baby!

I had my girls trained in their old cage, but once they moved to the new cage it's been different.  Kira pees out the side along the wall, ESPECIALLY after I clean it.  I just moved the litter box to that spot, and it seems better, although sometimes someone does miss the spot and pees on a shelf...   ::think::
