Hi guys
In October I am going to be moving to Tucson AZ, from CT.
I have three chinchillas that I need to transport, I am going to be driving down, given I also have 3 dogs, and a Cat. I need to figure out how to transport them though, as I assume its going to take me a few days to get from CT to AZ as it will just be me so I will have to find pet friendly motels to stay in, if anyone if familiar with this route, and can point me in the right direction for that as well i would appreciate it,
thank you!!

I've never traveled this route but I Can recommend AAA as a resource. We've used them for advice on different things and they will probably know.
Here are some simple travel tips for transporting chinchillas:
-Chinchillas are easily stressed and will greatly reduce their food and water intake when travelling. Keep track of your pets weight and fecal output.
-Heat is a big killer when travelling. The exhaust system and transmission make a lot of heat through the floor. Keep the cages off the floor if at all possible. Keep your chins out of direct sunlight at all times.
-Make sure their watering system dispenses for your overnight stays. Changes in pressure from altitude can suck the valve closed on most waterers. Do a manual check.
