I am pleased to announce that two days ago we got a third member to our family!!! Lola (my female chin) gave birth to one sweet baby chin!!!!! I am thinking it's a girl but not one hundred percent sure! We are so excited and have already began loving on the baby!!! I do have a question though when can I let Carlos (daddy) interact with baby??? ::kiss99::

Congratulations!! That is wonderful. Where is the daddy now? It depends on if daddy is close enough to see/smell baby. If not he may not see it as his baby and fight it.

He is in a cage right next to mommy and baby, so he can smell that baby and see it

I let Dad see the kits as soon as they are born, if he's not still in the cage. ;)
I don't pull Dad until the birth, I haven't had a breed back yet as I only have a few and know my gals well enough to do this.
Then in 5-10 I put him back with the family. The moms let me know when.
Much congrats, so what colors????

::silly:: Congratulations! Believe it or not ... the amazement you feel with your very first kit does not diminish with each new birth ... over the years I have always gotten excited when I knew one was going to deliver or would get an occasional surprise single birth from one of the larger moms. The miracle of birth never seems to loose it's wonder. :::grins::

Thanks for all the congrats!! The kit is a standard grey and I believe it's a girl. So I guess I will let daddy get in the cage with them tonight :) He will be so excited! The baby is 10 days old today! I am supposed to be giving the baby away once she is old enough to a friend of mine but I don't know if I will be able to part with her!!!

Yes just keep on eye on how Mom reacts. They too have minds of their own.
Let us know . I expect they'll be over joyed to be back as a family.
Most dads in pair breeding are just awesome dads.
I don't so runs so can't comment.
