well, whatever it was has passed. I give out a craisin, rasing or dried payapa maybe every other day or so. I keep treating to a minimum. The poo looked fine, just i guess in my mind it appeared that she was struggling. She is fine do, leaving me presents everywhere.

I grab both of my chins aswell when my sirens go off. Somehow, they have gotten used to it and they both will hop into their carrier when it is time to go.

That is a good story, I enjoyed reading it. I bought my first chin from a pet store and my second from a breeder. Im sure you have a wonderful little family going on there.

At least with my chins, you never know they poop intil the stop one second and then they move and its there. One of my females, will sit up on her hind legs, walk in a few circles, then it comes out. It just seems to me she is struggling a bit.

For some reason, clovite is highly expensive around here. The lady recommended an " off-brand " as she stated it. I have found the product with its ingredients. What do you knowledgeable people think?

Health / Switching Foods
« on: June 01, 2010, 04:32:48 PM »
After all of my research, I have decided on switching my chins food. My old food was just crap basically. I know I have to switch them very slowly, as I have done..ever since day 1 one of the switch, they both would pick the new food out of the bowl and leave most of the rest behind.  Its been 2 weeks and Im thinking that I may have switched them a little too soon. They both struggle a little bit, but it always comes out. So i put a little of their old food back in the bowl, and they ate everything but the old. Is this small struggle going to eventually pass, or is it something to be concerned about? The poop content in their cage really hasnt changed at all, they poop great, just takes a little effort.

FYI! my cage is made of 3/8 inch pinewood, the bolts they give you are about 1/2 long. so you might have to get new bolts unless you have a wire cage.

Wow! I didn't know that humans could be allergic to pine. Learn something new everyday. But at least you found a pet you can handle.

I just got a chin from a breeder and he gave me some of his " super-secret " suppliment. I can tell it has oat tops, sunflower seeds in the shell, and some out of the shell. There are also little white pieces but I am unable to identify them. Anyways, my chins seems to love it. Anyone will to share some trade secrets????

I got some tiger striped fleece lining the inside of thier little houses but that's it. I leave it I. There till it looks dirty, then throw it away and cut new strips. 1 sq yard has lasted me 3 months so it's pretty cheap.
