Q & A / How to introduce a new chinchilla
« on: May 24, 2017, 01:30:36 AM »
Hi guys!

My question for you today is: how do I introduce a 3-month old male chinchilla to my two female chinchilla's who are both over a year old? I have already put them next to each other in a neutral environment and everything seems to be okay. The only thing is that one of my female chinchilla's chases the male chinchilla around.

The breeder where I got my male chinchilla from told me to put a smal cage into the bigger cage and place the new chinchilla in the smaller cage so they can get used to each others smells, is this an okay way to introduce them? How long should the new chinchilla stay in the smaller cage?

Thank you

Q & A / Bonding two chinchilla girls with a new chinchilla girl
« on: February 26, 2017, 11:21:16 AM »
Hi!

So I am wondering if it would be easy to bond two chinchilla girls with a new chinchilla girl? I already have two chinchilla's who get along very well. Now my friend is giving away her chinchilla because she can't take care of it anymore. The chinchilla was always housed alone and is 9 months old.. I really want to adopt her and give her two new friends but I am wondering if this will be an easy proces and if it will even work? Do you guys have any experience with this?

Thanks

Q & A / My chinchilla started acting weird
« on: January 16, 2017, 01:42:15 PM »
Hi guys!

So I got my two chinchilla's last wednesday, I have a white mozaïek and a standard chinchilla. My white chinchilla really started opening up and started eating treats out of my hand en hopping on my legs, three days later she didn't come out of her cage, while my standard chinchilla did and she just stayed in her cage. The day after as well, and today she got out of her cage but she is acting really really scared while she wasn't acting like that in the beginning. What is happening to her?

Thanks..
