I have just read this post with interest, my chinnies also have a similar hay ball in their cage.  :( I have now removed it and cleaned it to give to the rabbit instead, I figured he would be far too big to get caught in it! :)
Thanks for sharing this story with us, I am glad it had a happy ending, it could have been so different. :::(((

Thanks for that information Jo Ann, it's interesting to know. In Britain silvers and white mosaics are classed as different colours altogether I think.
Maisy May's photo is a little deceiving, she may be slightly more grey than she looks!! Maybe this picture is more true to life!

Hi Jane,
Welcome to the club  ::dancingspot:: & the addiction   rofl  sounds like your well on your way!

They are beauties. I see a standard grey,Aristotle, a white mosaic, Maisy May,and an ebony, Petal did I get them right???  :blush2:

Maisy May is a silver, not white mosaic. Her fur is white with grey all over, although the grey is more prominent on her tail, ears and face. :)

Hi, I'm Jane and have just joined this forum to show off, I mean tell you all about my beautiful chinnies!  :) I am 43 years old, married with a 10 year old daughter.

My 3 mischiefs are all female. Aristotle is a standard grey, not sure how old. In the pet shop they told me she was about 4 months old, I had her for 4 weeks and came down one morning to find 3 babies in her nest!!! (4 months old, yeah right!)  I rang the shop and said that chinchilla you sold me 4 weeks ago has had a litter and the voice on the other end said, " Oh are you the one that bought the pair and then brought one back?"  "Err no," said I," but that could explain things!" Anyway, one sadly died, she was much smaller and weaker than the other 2, one went to live with a friend of mine and one we kept.
Which leads me on to:
Maisy May, the worlds most mischievous chinnie. She was 1 year old last April, a beautiful silver colour, but always in trouble.
Finally there's Petal, a gorgeous ebony who is also 1 year old. I bought her from a breeder after seeing her advertised and  just couldn't resist. ( I love ebonies!) She is very shy but soooo cute and soft.
