I know I may be jumping to conclusions but my chin seems unhappy...He just seems to sit on him wheel or on his wood perch. Is there anything I can do or am I just being a worrier? I hate having unhappy animals

Q & A / Dust Baths

So I have a question about the Dust Baths...I gave my chinchilla a dust bath on Sunday and again on Tuesday....Am I giving them to close to each other or is this acceptable because if I stay on this same schedule I will need to give him one tonight. I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly Thanks!!

Hi My name is Kaylee and I am 22. I have a huge heart when it comes to animals. I have four dogs, three miniature Nigerian goats, two horses, two turtles, three fish, 5 snails AND I just recently became a Chin owner as of Saturday January 5th!! In the short time that I have had him its already been a little journey..lol...I can honestly say I have a lot to learn but I think I am getting there...I hope. I hope nobody minds a lot of questions...I have done a ton of research but I can honestly say I think I have learned more off here than just random websites. I would like to Thank everyone for any and all help!!

Q & A / New Chin Owner Questions!!

Hi Everyone!

I am a new Chin owner as of Saturday and I have a lot of questions!! So here I go....

1. I gave my Chin a cube of the timothy hay yesterday and he didn't eat it so do I need to give him another tonight or wait until he eats it?

2. He has a big ball that I put him in so he can run around my house safely but when my doxin walks by him the chin starts "barking" and chasing him and doxin is scared...Is he trying to make friends or attack him?

3. My choices for buying Chin food is a 20 min drive to Walmart and I've heard their food isn't as healthy..is this true? Or I have to drive an hour to the pet store...Is there anywhere I can order it online or can I buy what Walmart sells? Also what do I need to look for in the ingredients of the food I'm buying?

I am sure there are more questions but that is all I can think of right now. Thanks in advance for your help!!
