Post by: Misskitz on August 12, 2006, 09:51:05 AM
Well i didn't think i would be posting on this board for a long time but, My baby Strawberry Shortcake (the runt of the litter) who was only 2 died this morning. ::sadtears::   She was the best, the little squeaker and the most playful passed today. ::sadtears::   I miss her sooooooo much! Poor little Daisy is sooo lonely she's sitting on my lap now, She's refusing to eat, and won't go into her cage.   :(  Rest in peace my baby Strawberry.  :(

 :::((( MissKitz,  I am so sorry to hear of your loss and could hardly believe it when I read your post.  I feel your pain and know what you are going through.  We lost our little white ebony chinchilla recently also, he was only 3 months old.  He was the first chin we have ever lost.
Very very upsetting.  He was so full of life and bright eyed.  The autopsy report showed that he had a severe allergic reaction and died very suddenly.  We were there when he died.  Poor little one.  We miss him.
Again I am so sorry, please know there are many of us here for you my dear.
  :) Maybe in time you will think about getting a friend for Daisy.

Thank you for the very nice support,  :)    Will i need to get a smaller cage for Daisy or not so she won't get dispressed?  The breeder we got Strawberry just had a litter, and is very sad so she said if we would like to we could have a kit. She was the first Chinnie i  lost too.  ::sadtears::   The vet said that she might have had a poor heart because of being a runt, I also thought Daisy and Strawberry would grow old together, But it was tragic cut short.  :'(

I am so sorry for your loss, but so glad you had 2 years to love her.
It's always the sad side, but better to have loved, then never have loved at all.

::silly::Instead of a smaller cage, I think lots of extra love and attention would be best!  You need to get her out of the depression she may be in.

 How is she doing now?  Eating better?  Playing some?

 ::wave::

She's still sad like me but much better, She's eating but i can tell she misses eating with a friend (the toy kepts her company)   She almost broke her wheel because she was running really hard. ::)  she likes to snuggle with the toy hedge-hog.  We are trying to contact some breeders in CT to see if they have available chinnies, We're going to get her a friend.   ::silly::
