::silly:: OK, ladies ... I was ask a question last night that I have no idea of the answer ... ::think:: ... need some input on this question from y'all.
When you are in your "ladies only" thing each month ... do your female chins react to you any differently? I will put up a poll for every one so those who do not want to verbalize it can still answer the question. AND for those males on the forum that have mothers, sisters, girlfriends and/or wives that would notice the difference.
Comments are welcome, BUT, remember this is a kid friendly forum! In other words ... don't post anything you would not say in front of or to your parents, your kids or your pastor.

No I have never notice any thing differnet. Yet
-
Wow, interesting question! I have never noticed anything, but I am looking forward to seeing other people's answers.
-
That is a good question. I know with other animals there is a difference in the males. I will try to pay more attention and see.
-
I have been truly blessed in that I haven't had one since I was 29 :D
-
I haven't noticed anything. But I will pay attention this month (LOL) and see if I do see a change in either of them. I will get back to ya. :)
-
Debbie you are truly lucky :::grins::
No, I have not noticed any difference at all :)
-
Okay JoAnn here goes: It's that friendly time of month, again. ~Sigh~ Berry (my boy) is being more friendly (if you've read my previous posts about him being a tad bit psyco, LOL you would know this is not natural). He has been sitting on my lap the past couple of nights and moving up to my shoulder to sit against my neck. Which he has never done of his own free will, ever. Chloe is her normal bouncy friendly self. I guess we will have to continue the "case" study. ;)
-
I haven't noticed a lot with my chins, but my gliders there is a big difference... my male gliders are all over me, and the females tend to avoid me.
-
Never thought about it. Hm... I'll have to pay attention and see.
-
I haven't noticed any change in my chinnies when it was that time of the month, but they have definitely been different to me since I have been pregnant, especially those chinnies that have had kits. Raven, one of more "wild" girls has been especially calm and gives me alot more kisses than usual (I would even say she was the sweetest chin during my first trimester when I was so sick).
I will have to see what happens after the baby comes :)
-
Well it's just been that time so I kept an eye out for you. I only have one male and he didn't seem any different at all.
Possibly because he's on his own?
-
Interesting, I will have to observe! Only having had my chins a fairly short time I think I need to know their "normal" behaviour first :)
I made a big step with "Mamma" (have yet to come up with a proper name for her!) tonight. She hasnt been handled very much since we got the chins as she gave birth just a few dyas after she arrived and while the kit was very small we handled her as little as possible. The kit Mutley is now a month old and feeding himslef well (for those of you who read my weight question you will see that he is no longer a she....lol) so I got Mamma out. Well actually she stepped onto my hand from the cage. I sniffed her and talked quietly to her and she just sat on my chest, no mad dives to get away!!! She nibbled the stone in my ring and gave my face a good sniff...I think maybe we have connected :D!!!

Pixel was sort of irritable with me today. She bit me when I fed her... But she was fine with Aaron.
Men have all the luck. -_-

It is a known fact thats CATS can sense changes in their owner. So, Im sure chins have adopted some of that sense, considering they are loving.
-
I have not really noticed. She does get pretty gnarly around the same time every month though, but that does not coincide with my time. So I wonder what thats about!?
-
:blush2: What a wonderful question! I have to say that now I can't wait to start so I can see what happens. Haha. I know I have never said that before. Well.......I do have two kids. Haha. ;)
-
I haven't noticed any difference at all, but I'll have to observe more carefully!
-
My little chin bit me when I played with him. He wouldn't even let me cuddle him later. :'( I had to put up the small pen. I didn't want to chase after him. I never enjoy chasing him during that time of month. :blush2:
-
well i'm 24 but i don't get mine anymore because of my iud but i've never really took notice when i did. interesting......
-
i never really noticed any difference.
-
I've never noticed anything different with any of mine.
-
oh wow! thats interesting...
I'm gonna have to look into that... llol
-
Well, I am 55 so I dont do monthly an :2funny: :2funny:ymore.

Well.. it is that time for me, nothing different here but a bloated tummy :(
-
Haze -seemed- calmer. but then when i was done he continued to be calmer. i think he's having just a touch of depression since volleys passing. tres sad but at the same time he's very sit to sit and watch tv with for now heheh
-
Never gave it a thought...I'll pay attention next time around...Interesting topic post though.
-
Well... On those days my chinchilla gets a bit hyper and doesn't hang out near me often as usual. But that's all. I would say he doesn't act different. ::silly::
-
This has to be the funniest one yet......I don't have one anymore because of my IUD.....YEAH!.....4 kiddos was enough for me ;)
-
Well.. it is that time for me, nothing different here but a bloated tummy

"Monthly ladies' thing"? Are you freakin serious? And I doubt they would, just like other animals do not.
-
I never thought about it but never noticed. So no, I see no change.
-
Oh for Heaven's sake! Our little Sir has been here for two of these lovely visits by Mother Nature :blush2:, and now that you ask about it, he is very different! More popcorny ::silly::, more insistent on being held, and cuddled, more insistent of being with us. Between my daughter and myself, he chooses the one with her 'time' first, every time ;D!
We had already noticed this, and discussed it between ourselves. Although our little Mother seems totally unaware, her son seems VERY aware, lol. :2funny:
-
How thought provoking!
I don't know, we just got our chins early this year, and I haven't cycled since Nov. 2006. (2 pregnancy's, and BFing..)
-
luckies! my male becomes such a bother! hes constantly trying to get in trouble, running everywhere hes not supposed to, chewing everything, hiding things, being obnoxious, its rather annoying!
-
ROFL Sarah! I think we may have more of the same to look forward to with our little fellow! :2funny: Last week he spent all of every play date with my daughter, worring her to pieces! and ignoring me completely. ::) He even nipped her on the back and pulled her hair! What a mischeif. ::nod::
The more I learn. the more I realize how little I know ::think::
-
;)since my sister and i are new to owning chinchillas. we have no idea at all. an my sister does not get that monthly anymore.
-

[/b][/color]
so when do they become loving, is it after they stop running around the room making noises or before that, lol
i know it takes time but mine still wants to bite me
-
as i do not have that special time for ladies only(any longer) this question does not apply to me.
but i will keep an eye/ear out for a reaction when my daughter visits.
-
I dont have chinchillas yet so cant add to this...
but i also havnt had that girly thing in about 4 years. lol. i do know right now with being pregnant my cat is a lot more obsessive with me and animals are generally different around me.
-
This month I definitely have noticed a change. Chester wouldn't leave me alone! Even during playtime he spent most of it crawling all over me, sitting on my shoulder or on my lap and even snuggling. He might have sensed that I wasn't feeling well more than anything else, though. I suppose all of them are different!
-
I read this post back when I first got Zeus, I never though anything of it until more recently.
Zeus is terrible around that time of the month, at least until I let him out of the cage. He chews his cage and barks at me! As soon as he's out he wants to be social with everyone (at least more than usual, he's always a pretty social guy) but me especially!
-
Saw this post last month and payed a little more attention to casper's behaviour.. he did seem a little wilder and he'd avoid contact with me... we played just like usual, but he wouldn't spend too much time on my lap/shoulder/head... this was really interesting ???
-
They've never shown any different behaviour. ::think::
-
After having 20 froster chinchillas I can say I like the male better. The males have been more outgoing than the females. Yes they look for trouble more. I have 2 awesome females that are going to a new home tonight. They are great and are an exception to my rule. So it really comes down to personality not sex.
So far males have been more outgoing and less jumpy a bit more easy to tame. I am keeping 2 boys. I have yet to pair them up. That is the only problem I have with males. They are a bit harder to pair up with each other. They are more likely to fight. Not to say females will not fight just seems like males are quicker to jump the gun and throw down.

Ive aqctually never payed much attention to it but I will now
