Title: Moving chinchillas in the basement
Post by: Hoppinchins on March 16, 2015, 12:10:52 PM
We hope to get pregnant very soon. Once I have a baby, I would like to put the chinchillas in the basement. I we a dehumidifier we run in the basement. Would it be safe for them to live in the basement? I have read mixed things online.

It should be safe as long as it is well ventilated. If the air is stagnant and smells musty it will not be a healthy environment. If you can circulate the air that will be okay. Just make sure your fans aren't blowing on your chins.

Yeah, air circulation and fresh air will be very important. If your basement has a history of being damp or anything like that i wouldn't risk it to be fair.
