Can be, best if you replace the plastic with wood. And Cover up the wire mesh with fleece or wood.

Health / Long Poop
« on: March 05, 2014, 02:58:36 PM »
Chinchilla just pooped extremely long poop about 3-4 times bigger than pellets and its just one big long one. Should i try with burnt toast or something if just an upset tummy. Still recovering from last vet visit so hope doesn't come to that.

Finally got bottle cleaner a week ago so water bottle should be clean. Give about half a raisin a day maybe.

Q & A / Destroying pellets
« on: March 05, 2014, 09:31:32 AM »
Ever since i got a new bag of Oxbow pellets it seems they always get destroyed and its full of dust and crumbles. Now that my 2 chinchillas are separated for another reason  i notice its the one the was recently at the vet a month ago. This chinchilla never use to do this and its also wasting my pellets more than usual. Is there a reason he may be doing this. They get chew sticks daily.

Reminds me i did have to urine tested and it was negative for bacteria, casts, mucous and yeast. Not sure if that's exactly what you meant for for biggest cause of it if so isn't that.

I will try giving more hay and if all goes well just all hay. Or at least less pellets.

Health / Chinchilla Diet
« on: February 13, 2014, 12:33:09 AM »
Since my chinchilla is now all better from recovery from bladder stone i know i need to change his diet to hope it doesn't happen again. Once he gets it once its more likely to happen again.
As of now they just get unlimited Timothy hay and Oxbow pellets. Also about half a raisin a day usually.
There are 2 chinchillas both a year and a half.

Read online can try american health pellets.

Since its just timothy hay can help with that. Think i should go ahead and try this new food?
Or suggest anything else.
