Health / Urine on Fur?
« on: July 09, 2016, 10:44:15 AM »
I thought I'd ask a random question I've dealt with previously, if a Chinny urinates on their fur what is the best way to remove the stains?

It's not worth putting him through anymore as it's the same end result :-( thank you for your help.

I didn't bother getting the X-ray as the vet could see a spur through the initial check, I have already had him under anesthesia twice and didn't want him to go through it a 3Rd time. It's hard to find a vet who specifically deals with chinchillas here in the UK. Is it possible I could email you some images of him I took the other night and you tell me what you think as you seem to have a greater knowledge than me regarding this. Thank you in advance.

Health / Euthanize :-(

I've previously posted regarding my Chin Jed. I have decided it to be more humane and dignified to have him put to sleep tomorrow :-( I'm devastated and wish there was some other option but I know it will only postpone the enevitable. I can email some pictures and if anyone could please just clarify I am making the right choice I would be forever grateful. My Fiance and I have out first child on the way and I really wanted Jed to meet our little one (as selfish as that sounds) :-( thank you all for reading.

Health / Chin Malo?
« on: May 16, 2016, 01:09:47 PM »
I've previously posted regarding my Chinchilla Jed as he has had 2 operations due to dental issues and I'd like a 2nd opinion regarding this. To begin with I've started to believe that Jed is older than we thought, as his previous owner has now confirmed he believed Jed to be older. Now his teeth are getting worse as is his eye (half closed and wet) and he is drooling worse than ever. I have him booked in for an X-ray for this wed but I need to know if I'm putting him through unnecessary suffering? I adore him as he is my first chin and I've really bonded with him :-( thank you for your responses in advance.

Health / Chinchilla Ingrowing Teeth.
« on: October 09, 2015, 12:02:22 PM »
Hi all.

I am new to this Forum, and I am in need of advice. My Chinchilla Jed is 4 years old and he's just had his 2nd Operation for Overgrown Teeth, although this time not the same teeth. My Vet said this wasn't Malo although I am worried this is the first sign as he is still Drooling, is this because he had his Op on Mon (it's now Fri). Any Advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
