Title: Great Dane
Post by: Jo Ann on June 25, 2006, 10:13:54 PM
::silly:: This is Lady ... she is a Great Dane and just turned 2 years old.  She loves the chins and they love and trust her.   She is a big help when cleaning cages.  I pull out the tray and she will stand there with her nose in front of the opening to keep the chins from escaping where the tray slides back in.   :::grins::

Below you can see her listening to her name-sake talking to her.   ::)

::silly:: Little Lady was attacked by her brother at 2 days old and almost killed.  You can still see the sore on her neck ... she also has one on the hip and side that you can not see.

She and Lady, the Great Dane, have become great friends!

Here you can see where she is wanting to ride on Lady's nose.  Of course, I will not let her, she might fall and get hurt.

::silly:: Hi Debbie,

Little Lady is doing just fine and is with a foster mom and two kits that seem to count her as part of their family already.

Lady, the Great Dane, loves all the chins.  Check out "A Chin's Point of View" on my website.  http://www.luvnchins.com/ChinSitting/index.html  rofl

Chinchilla Girl, Lady is actually small for a Great Dane.  She was only 4 pounds 2 ounces at six weeks old and was the runt of a litter of ten puppies.  Her dad tips the scales at 195 and her mom at 180 ... she is probably as big as she will get now (she turned 2 years old June 15th) and only weighs 105.  :blush2:

Jo Ann that is the cutes thing I've ever seen.http://www.luvnchins.com/ChinSitting/index.html
Folks are always saying " but I have a dog",and don't think a chin would fit in. rofl
My cat loves them too, and when I have some up stairs and out , he will always know where they are.
Like having eyes on the back of my head.
Some will play with the cat, some will spray at him, and he remembers who. ::nod::

::silly::The animal kingdom has it over us hands down!  ::nod::  They get along, understand and help each other... we think we're smart if we learn a second language.   They must have fun laughing at us!    rofl

Lady is training me well.  She pulled one early this morning that showed me just how smart she is .... I wish I had a film of it ... I'd make a mint! :::grins::

I was at the computer, she wanted to go out, she'd been out less than an hour before, so I told her she didn't need to go outside right now.   ::nono::

She turned away and started gaging like she was going to  ::puke::, stepped a few more steps and did it again.   Not wanting to have a mess on the rug to clean up, I tried to get to the front door as fast as I could ... her gaging 4 or 5 times on the way and even while I tried to get her lead on her ... then ... as soon as she was out the door, she was just fine and ran to the part of the sidewalk she goes to when she wants the neighbor's dogs to come play with her ... she gave a little "woof", set down, and waited for the others to come join her!     :o

Cats are not dumb either :::grins::  They won't let us pet them, unless they are in the mood.  They refuse the food we give them so that we'll run out and get them the expensive stuff.  They'll purr like a motor boat when we scratch them, so that we'll do it some more.  They hide when they don't want us around, then, grace us with their presence when it suits their fancy.   ::)  My great uncle had one that would potty in the tolit, then flush it! ???
