Ok, Thanks for you help. I'm in the process of buying hay from the lone star chinchilla website. I read on the chin club website that they don't recamend giving treats to babies that are younger than 3 months. My chins are about 2 months old. One will eat treats and the other one won't. Is that because he is too young he doesn't want one? Should I stop giving my other chin treats till he gets older?

The bedding brand is carefresh. It says it is environmentally friendly, biodegradable. It also says formulated to be pine and cedar oil free. Its free of dyes, clay and chemicals used in the paper making process. It is processed to remove potentially harmful aromatic hydrocarbons. Do you think its safe to keep using or should I switch to something else? If so, what/where should I buy it at? from the lone star chinchilla website, they have Aspen Bedding 1800. Would that be better? I'm almost out of my bedding, so I have to buy new stuff anyways.

I just got a baby white male chin. His personality is a lot different than my baby gray one, pogo I have. The woman at the pet store called the white one a 'fancy' chin. I wasn't so sure what she meant by that. Snowie is alot more calm than pogo and he is really vocal and the food he doesn't like, he just throws it next to the food dish. Is that normal. Should I try different food?

I am a new chinchilla owner, I have two baby chinchillas, One is gray and the other one is white. I was wondering if they need to eat hay to stay healthy. Also, Neither of my chins like the yogurt drops and only pogo, the gray one likes raisins. What treats should I give Snowie, the white one. He seems to be a picky eater.

Hi, I am a new member and I have two male chinchillas. I have a baby gray one I got about 3 weeks ago and a baby white one I got a few days ago. I was wondering if Chinchillas can have a dust bath too often? The gray one likes to take one about every other day. The white one hasn't wanted to take one yet.

Also, the white one is a picky eater and doesn't eat all the food. He throws out the pieces he doesn't like. Is that normal. He also likes to eat the bedding. Is that ok?

I also wasn't sure what some good toys were for them.

I just got a white chinchilla yesterday, He is a picky eater when it comes to the food, but he likes to eat the bedding. Is that safe for him to eat that?
