How cute.
Is it a Jack Russell?
How old is he?
Has he got a name yet?

Congrats little one, looks like you've found a great home. yes

He is a she.  yes Her name is Peanut and she is 8 weeks old.

I have high hopes that growing up in the house with the chins she will not bother them. There is no way for her to get to them but I am sure she could really bug them if she wanted to. I also have another Jack Russell and she can't come in at all because she just sits in front the cages and barks. If Peanut starts to act like that I will have to put the chins in my room and I really don't want to do that but I may have to.

Bless her heart. I love her name, and love the breed.
Funny that the other barks like that at the chins.
I have heard though that big dogs seem to get along better with chins.
Had a customer with a small breed and all it wanted to do was rough house and play with the chins.
While most big dogs I have heard of, like Jo Ann's, seem to coddle the chins and protect them.

The Jack Russell breed are hunters. My other JR's name is Molly and she will kill any rodent she can catch. She brings me dead rats all the time and she brought me a rabbit she had killed the other day.  I hope with Peanut in the house with the chins she will just ignore them. I was scared with the cat in the house at first but she don't pay them any attention. I have read that JR's  don't like cats but Peanut and the cat play together all the time.

Sily!She is absolutely adorable!!!

Jack Russel's being hunters and all ... I hope you have double locks on the chin cages. The extra locks we use are the ones that look like they belong on a dog leash ... or a key chain ... just a small hooking lock.  Many of my chins have learned to unlatch their cage to get out to play.

Even if they can not get to them, but start barking at the chins, that can cause the chins to start chewing fur.  Check out my story on: Other Family Pets Can Affect Your Chin Detrimentally on my Luv 'N Chins II site at: http://www.geocities.com/jobernstein1949/.  My brother's dog (also a hunting breed) made it into the chin room and basically ruined a family of 4 homo ebony chinchillas ... to this day, over two years later, they still chew,  but had never before done so Shadow scared them by barking in a way the chins knew they would be a meal, if she got them.

We have a Pomeranian and two Great Danes.  The Pom ignores them and will even run from them, but never barks at them.  The older Dane, Lady, (she will be 3 in June) absolutely adores the chins, our new 10 week old puppy Dane, Raven, looks like she is going to be the same as Lady. The story of Lady and the chins is told in a 3 page cartoon at: http://www.luvnchins.com/AChinsPointOfView.html .

The extra locks we use are the ones that look like they belong on a dog leash ... or a key chain ... just a small hooking lock.

I'll keep my fingers crossed the JRs will be able to be around the chins with no problem.  How about a picture of your other Jack Russel?   yes

I am at work but I will try to get one later today.

I have 2 locks on 1 of my cages but the other 2 cage just have 1 but I will put another one on just in case. I know if they ever got out that would not be good at all. LOL my 3yr old little boy would be just as bad for them as the cat and dog.

If Peanut ever starts barking at them I am going to move them into my room where she can't even see them. My husband will not be to happy about that because they drive him crazy when he is trying to sleep.  Wink

Smiley Congrats on the new puppy, what a cute face!  My husband wants to know if you want 2 more!
(Just kidding)   We have 2 Jack Russells as well.  They are 10 year old sisters.  Still as wild as the day we got them!   Shocked Never a dull moment here!  They really don't care much about the chins or cats.   I guess we got lucky!
