Hello everyone. I was one of the first members here when Jamie started this forum. Due to commitments and bad health I didn't have so much time to come here. so (hangs head) I drifted away.  :-[

When I came the other day to look through the messages I found I could not get in. smile.

My name here before was Kingdom Chinchillas. I have now swapped it for a more friendlier name of just Aileen as that's what most people know me as.

I am slowly getting back in to things here. I see quite a few who are still members from when I was here before. Good to see that but also good to see how the membership has swelled.

Will soon get used to all your names. so will now slip out and surf around the boards for a while to get me up to date. Happy to say I managed to add pics to the albums section. Some lovely pics in there I notice.
see you all soon.

Hello there Debbie. I did notice you were still here smile.
I am downsizing at the moment. on the 100 mark at moment
I did have a lot of mutations but am now retiring my Tov Violets and Violets to some of my friends on my msn group. Also doing same with Ebonies even though they did pick up awards at shows. Will eventually just have standards - which I am well know for in uk having won the NCS National show twice with standards both times - and of course my favorites of all the mutations my black velvets.

I haven't been able to go to many shows this year due to bad health. Such a distance we in Scotland have to go to attend them in England. Pity because I enjoyed seeing my fellow breeders at the shows.

How's life treating you Debbie?

Hi Aileen,
I am so glad you are back.  I hope your health is better.  Sorry you had to register again.  Our site crashed awhile back and we lost all of our information so we had to start over from scratch with a new forum.  Everyone had to register again, but the new board is even better, I think, and has a lot of neat features we didn't have before.
Welcome back, and I look forward to catching up with you! Hi  Smiley

Awesome I just had my first Grandchild, Grin well my daughter had him. He'll be 6 weeks old tomorrow.
I have just 30 chins, but that's enough for me, they don't sell well here. I'd love to breed more, and more colors.
Yes Jamie has done an awesome job on the new Club site eh! Thumbs Up!

awwww how sweet. I am guessing thats the pic I saw on your details at side. he has lovely dark hair. My mum said the first grandchild is always so special.

I can't keep up with demand for chinchillas here Debbie. There are not a lot of top quality chinchilla breeders in my area, Most who buy from me are those getting into showing and looking to by pedigree ones rather than pet store ones. I rest my females a lot as well rather than wear them out. I dont like breedback. I think it's wrong to have a mum feeding babies to be pregnant again with breedback. Even after kits are weaned I let mum have a break before allowing her to breed again.

ohh soz. I tend to go on and on as I have a passion for good breeding practices.
I am off to bed now. It's almost 11.pm. time I was asleep. night night all sweet dreams when you go to bed yourself Debbie. sending best wishes for little junior.

Aileen,
The picture on my page is one of my "now champion"!  Tippy is my first born chinchilla that we bred.  This picture was taken when he was (I think) a couple of months old.  He won the Grand Champion of Show this past year 2006 in Rock Hill, SC for the Southeast Coastal Chapter of the MCBA.  We took him to the National Show in Auburn, IN and he placed as the Reserve Champion of his color section overall.....so I am very proud of my Tippy!  He does like to be snuggled.

My name Sweetnessheart comes from my first born son.  When he was born he had a birth mark the shape of a small heart.  I said ...."Look it is a sweet little heart."  The name grew from there....so Joseph's pet name is Sweetnessheart.  He is now 13, but he still knows when mama calls Sweetnessheart I am talking to him.....he doesn't seem to mind, but I am sure one day as he gets older he may.

Your chins are beautiful ... congratulations on all the ribbons.   clap

I use to just read and not post, but Jamie gave me a little nudge ... now I won't shut-up ...  Cheesy
