Pregnant chins?
« on: April 29, 2014, 06:33:36 PM »

This may seem like a stupid question but do female chins teats only show elongated when pregnant? Or are they always like that. I have a female who just had kits and I never noticed them til she had them and was nursing. I've read that they show like this before the mother gets ready to nurse.
I'm not asking for the one who just gave birth but for my other female. She usually is very timid but has started being more cuddly. While playing with her tonight I felt something on her underside and upon examination it was teats....I'm lost lol

You can find teats on all mature females but they are usually not much longer than the belly fur.  When they get near giving birth the mammary glands swell with milk and the teats get longer so everything is more obvious.

I've never noticed them before and my male has been in the cage with both females. I can't tell if she looks bigger because she is the biggest of all of them. She's about 4 years old.
