Petting a sleeping chinchilla
« on: November 01, 2013, 07:32:31 AM »

I've noticed that if I pet my chinchilla when he is laying down and trying to sleep he usually allows me to pet him and he doesn't flinch and jump to his feet. I was wondering if others could do that too.

Yes, Doodle lets me as well :) Sometimes he opens his eyes but doesn't move, and when I start petting him, he closes his eyes again. Of course, that may be because I pet right near his eyebrows... But I like to think he's enjoying it :D

Dexter jumps up if I even think of petting him while he's sleeping like that. Skillet is much calmer, sometimes he will let me sometimes he jumps up startled. Your chinnie must be really calm :-)
