Question: Do your chinchillas react to you differently when you are on your monthly ladies' thing?
Yes,the females are irritable with me, sometimes nipping and/or bieting.
They seem more loving towards me, they must understand.
The males are more irritable with me.
The males are more loving towards me.
No change at all.
Never noticed one way or the other.

Sily! OK, ladies ... I was ask a question last night that I have no idea of the answer  ...  think ... need some input on this question from y'all.

When you are in your "ladies only" thing each month ... do your female chins react to you any differently?  I will put up a poll for every one so those who do not want to verbalize it can still answer the question.  AND for those males on the forum that have mothers, sisters, girlfriends and/or wives that would notice the difference.

Comments are welcome, BUT, remember this is a kid friendly forum!  In other words ... don't post anything you would not say in front of or to your parents, your kids or your pastor.

 Hello!

That is a good question. I know with other animals there is a difference in the males. I will try to pay more attention and see.

Okay JoAnn here goes: It's that friendly time of month, again. ~Sigh~ Berry (my boy) is being more friendly (if you've read my previous posts about him being a tad bit psyco, LOL you would know this is not natural). He has been sitting on my lap the past couple of nights and moving up to my shoulder to sit against my neck. Which he has never done of his own free will, ever. Chloe is her normal bouncy friendly self. I guess we will have to continue the "case" study.  Wink

I haven't noticed a lot with my chins, but my gliders there is a big difference... my male gliders are all over me, and the females tend to avoid me.

I haven't noticed any change in my chinnies when it was that time of the month, but they have definitely been different to me since I have been pregnant, especially those chinnies that have had kits.  Raven, one of more "wild" girls has been especially calm and gives me alot more kisses than usual (I would even say she was the sweetest chin during my first trimester when I was so sick).
I will have to see what happens after the baby comes Smiley

Well it's just been that time so I kept an eye out for you. I only have one male and he didn't seem any different at all.
Possibly because he's on his own?

Interesting, I will have to observe!  Only having had my chins a fairly short time I think I need to know their "normal" behaviour first Smiley
I made a big step with "Mamma" (have yet to come up with a proper name for her!) tonight.  She hasnt been handled very much since we got the chins as she gave birth just a few dyas after she arrived and while the kit was very small we handled her as little as possible.  The kit Mutley is now a month old and feeding himslef well (for those of you who read my weight question you will see that he is no longer a she....lol) so I got Mamma out.  Well actually she stepped onto my hand from the cage.  I sniffed her and talked quietly to her and she just sat on my chest, no mad dives to get away!!!  She nibbled the stone in my ring and gave my face a good sniff...I think maybe we have connected Cheesy!!!

Pixel was sort of irritable with me today. She bit me when I fed her... But she was fine with Aaron.

Men have all the luck. -_-

It is a known fact thats CATS can sense changes in their owner. So, Im sure chins have adopted some of that sense, considering they are loving.
