How to make cats like eachother?
« on: October 04, 2013, 07:49:45 AM »

My friend has 2 cats, a kitten and an older cat. The two don't get along. How do you suppose she can fix this problem?

The older cat probably doesn't want to be as active as the kitten. Chances are when the kitten gets older and calmer they'll be more tolerant of each other.

How long have the cats been together? In my extensive experience with cats I've known some will never get along and some that don't at first one day might just surprise you. In some cases it's because one cat will be way more active than the other and in other cases I don't have a clue why. It may be for the same reason why some cats make good pets and others are not tamable. If they are both male cats it might help to get them neutered if they are not.

I assume only a few months. They're both female, and from what I hear, they're both sweethearts--- just not to each other.

Would catnip help? They've never had it.

It probably wouldn't hurt to try a catnip toy or chase toy and get both cats involved with playing with it at the same time.
