Hi, Just thought I'd answer a few questions & maybe get some points since I'm a newbie.... 86. In the wild chinchillas lived in small CRACKS & CREVICES among the rocks. Correct87. Chinchillas generally love dried fruit raisins, cranberries, etc. but should be given these in MODERATION. Correct89. Do not use cedar or undried pine as they have AROMATIC OILS which can damage the RESPIRATORY TRACTS of the chin & cause LIVER problems. Correct90. Avoid wood like FIR, SPRUCE, PLUM, & REDWOOD. Correct92. If you build a house make it out of KILN DRIED pine. Correct95. A chewable VITAMIN C as a daily treat can be enjoyed as much as other sweets. Correct96. A WOODEN or CARDBOARD house is recomended for them to hide in. Correct97. 4-inch PVC drain pripe (white) T or Y joints/shaped are also dandy for the chin to hide in. Correct

Because I did not carry over the part about all accepted answers are On the CA Chins' website, (I just added it from the origional list of questions, to the questions above ...) I will count 3 of the questions here correct ... but they are still open for points. 15 Points for Leslie!(74) All the chinchillas in this country [USA] _were?______ the descendants of the original 11 brought in by M. F. Chapman in the 1930's. read the sentence and whole paragraph carefully to get this answer. (84) Pet grade corn is not good for your chin, but, for an occasional treat it is OK to give your chin __POPCORN________________________ (very small amounts, of course). Check again at: http://www.cachins.org/ (85) When in doubt what is good to feed your chin, err on the side of _LOVE____ and __CAUTION_______. Good answer, but not the one on California Chins (91) When building huts or other chew toys, it is recommend you do NOT use _CEDAR_____, __SPRUCE____ or _PLY______ wood as they are poisonous. Correct, but again, not what is on CA Chins (98) After dental work is done on a chinchilla the mouth is often tender, a mixture of buffered ___Calcium-Ascorbate powder___ of ___Vitamin C_, put about 2000 mg in a couple of teaspoons of _YOGURT_______ [preferably fruits], and give that for a few days. You need to keep him ____hydrated___while he is on such high doses of C, and taper off after a few days. Correct (but the yogurt can be baby food)(99) On the links page of California Chins what are the Names of the Web Sites the 7 links, link to? Hint: Click on each one to find the actual name of the site.MCBA International Pet Chinchillas Association Underhill Chinchillas Worldwide Chin Net Chinchillaclub.com Chinlove 20002001 chinchilla.de

98) After dental work is done on a chinchilla the mouth is often tender, a mixture of buffered Calcium ascorbate powder of Vit.c, put about 2000 mg in a couple of teaspoons of baby food [preferably fruits], and give that for a few days. I think this goes with this,LOL You need to keep him well hydrated, while he is on such high doses of C, and taper off after a few days. This one had already been answered by Leslie.

Everyone seems to be having problems with #99
(99) On the links page of California Chins what are the Names of the Web Sites the 7 links, link to?
Each of you copied what was listed, not where it went to, which was the question
When you link to: MCBA (Mutation Chinchilla Breeders Association, Inc) It takes you to the MCBA Website International Pet Chinchilla Association N/A, it is no longer at that location. Underhill Chinchillas Worldwide Has changed it's name to: Underhill Chinchillas Resource Guide ChinNet Goes to Chin Net chinchillaclub.com Has changed it's name to Chinchillas.Org chinlover20002001 Has changed it's name to Luv 'N Chins chinchilla.de N/A, it is no longer there.
