Is it safe to house chins and computers in the same room?  Before I ended up with 4 chins, I had a small network set up in my room.  The 2 chins were kept across the rooms from the 2 computers and were only let out to run after everything was powered off and all electrical plugs unplugged.  When I lost one and got a new chin, she gave birth to 2 kits.  I now have 4 chins total.  The only available space in my room is the 2 tables that are right next to the machines.  The machines are on the ground a few feet from the kits. I have arranged it so that exhaust from the 2 machines do not blow directly on them. My concern is that one of the computers has a fan that blows straight up so I'm worried about particles being blown straight up into the air and landing in the near by chin cages.  The other 2 cages appear to be a good distance away.

Has anyone else here had both a chin and a computer or 2 in their room?

i think they'll be fine. i had a computer in my bedroom where i kept my first chin. the only thing i would say is just make sure you keep an eye on the temperature if the computers get hot. if you're worried about the air being polluted, you could get an air purifier - i have one in my chin room because mae appears to be allergic to pollen so it runs non stop in the summer.

Will that help with dust from the circuitry?  I don't want their cages or food to become contaminated.  During free exercise, Chip sniffs at them but doesn't hang with them alot. I Usually have the computers in standby during the summer because of the heat.  The winter it actually makes the room temperature normal.

i would imagine so. it did work very well for the pollen in the summer. certainly worth trying.

Thank you very much. I'll hit the stores after the holiday rush.  Smiley
