Chinchilla Behavior

So I enjoy talking to my chinchilla in his native language. The communication sounds like these

http://www.chinchilla-sounds.de/kontkt_e.htm

I first noticed he was very curious about these sounds when I played those for him. When I do it though, he starts to act out and scratches and bites my hand. I thought it was a dominance thing at first, but now I'm not so sure. It isn't a hard bite or scratch, just nibbles and light scratches (it's pretty cute). After he does this though, he goes off and starts chewing on the bottom of the wall repeatedly. He knows he isn't supposed to do this, and while I know chinchillas are dominant and won't listen to you, he does in fact know he isn't supposed to do this.

I'm wondering if I'm offending him somehow by talking to him through his own sounds maybe because this is the only way he will act out. I enjoy talking to him though  :-\
