Hes 7 days old today and is down from 41.5 to 30.3 grams. Is their some kind of formula i can feed him??? Ive been watcing and the last few days when he goes to feed murry knocks him down and grooms him instead of letting him eat.

Goats milk, will have to be fed every 2 hours round the clock.  That is a major weight loss, hope you can save him.

Be careful when hand feeding. Do it slowly. If you force it in, it could go into the lungs. That could result in pneumonia.

Im trying. I got a can of condenced goats milk at the store and mixed some with water. Im using these lil plastic things to feed him that my room mate had. my ex suggested i try mixing in a small amount of ensure for extra calories but i dunno =/ he does it for his rats.

Don't use tap water. The chlorine in it is toxic.  I would consult with the vet or someone on here before using the ensure. I am not familiar with it, as I have never needed to hand feed my kits.  I lack the experience right now as I am raising my first litter, so I have been consulting on here as well as the vet for mine.

I dont know if the local vet does chinchillas where i havent needed to take my chinchillas to the vet since i lived in NY =/
