Mother-chin gave birth to Baby-chin on Saturday. We noticed a red mark on Baby-chin's ear on day 2. We saw dried blood on it on day 5. On day 6, the ear looks mangled. Baby-chin is in the same cage as Mother-chin and Father-chin. Is one of them the cause of this? Mother-chin has given birth twice before. There may have been missing patches of fur in the past, but never wounds. Baby-chin's behavior has been normal throughout this.

I couldn't really get a good picture, but one can be seen below.

sometimes mums get a bit carried away when grooming and cleaning the babies. if the baby is fine and is feeding and putting weight on etc, i'd keep a close eye but leave them to it.

a lot of ear injuries happen at birth so you could have missed it.

Are the ears normal?
Moms tend to try and fix problems by chewing more, even if it was a little nick during birth.
