Hello, I'm a new chin owner from Nebraska. Just got 2 boys July 1st 2006 at 6 weeks old (they are brothers and I didn't want to split them up Tongue). So far my favorite part is when they make a loud noise (flinging a chew block into their hut or something) then when you turn around they are just watching you as if nothing happened.  edit. oh yea, suppose I should post a picture of them. (its from a cell phone so kinda grainy) Pip and Squeak

I am 21 years old. Also, has anyone had their chinchillas just be relaxing and then make a repeated loud squeaking noise for no apparent reason? Anyway, I'm glad i got them, and I also like how when they are tired after being let out to play, that when they go back in their cage they plop down and fall asleep on their sides with their back legs sticking out of their little hut(and sometimes making tiny hopping motions as they sleep)

Sometimes Roo will be sleeping and he starts to make noises. Sometimes I think he is dreaming or something. The only time I ever got a little concerned was when Buddy was making some noises and he kept on and on so I went to check on him, but he seemed to be find and he quit after a few mins. He was in his PVC pipe and I guess he just liked the way it sounded.
