I do, the minute I find them. I weight them, check them over and give them the biggets kisses their little face can handle. yes
And every day some times several times until they go to their forever homes.
Now mind you if Mom protest I coax them out from under her, but all my females are quite comfy with me, and I have never had a problem.

i'm not a professional breeder, but i did breed a few times, and from the breeders i have talked to in the past.. you can pick them up right away, sex them, weigh them...  it's good that they are handled young so they are used to it when they are older..
but [this part might be off]  the first three days from what i was told, are the most crucial if that is the correct word.  their tails will be down, and they when it goes up, you know they are healthy and okay..

enjoy the kits!!

I always pick them up right away.  Sometimes Mom will get really tired and doesn't clean as well as she should so I give her a hand.  I can usually tell when she is ready and have witnessed 2 of her 3 litters being born.  Just be gentle!

When the 2 kits were born here, I picked them up within an hour of them being born, and I try to handle them daily. Momma gets mad & "barks" at me, so I give her a shredded wheat treat & then get the babies!! Smiley
