im wondering if there's anything i can give my chinchilla everytime i play with him (besides hay)? i searched everywhere and they say no more than 1 tablespoon per week , but i'd like something that i can feed my chinchilla often, cus i love it when he eat food from my hand. Any idea? =[

And i always make sure that there's hay in his cage so is it ok if he has hay everyday?

I give mine a raisin a day.  You could also do a rosehip, cheerio, dried papaya piece.   You do need to only choose one a day.

If you want to really be nice to them, take some organic grapes or kiwi and dehydrate them yourself.  That way they are fresh.  Ours went goo goo over them.  We also found some shredded wheat without sugar or anything bad.  They only get one treat a day, but we also make sure they get some protein pellets (Calf manna?) at night time, not more than 8 pellets each.

oat groats if that is what they are called, personally i don't believe in rasisns, but i do use them now and then..

old fashioned oats, the kind that aren't instand, crushed or whole rosehips, or whole rosebuds, i think someone mentioned the cheerios or shredded wheat, non shredded...oat straw..i have some of these on my website just to let you know..
