hi guys  im new to this forums and im a new chinchilla owner. My name is Tiennie, I'll be 17 soon and my chinchilla's name is Bambi. I adopted him from a rescue organization, and i had a great experience while i was there. I get to hear so many sad stories about how those chinchillas are abandoned and neglected (1 of them was missing a leg and 1 of them didnt have a tail), and some of them were about to get killed for their fur, that made me so sad  And it makes me wonder why people pay so much money to get a "cute" pet even though there are so many chinchillas out there that need their love and care. Anyways, i picked out a standard chinchilla and he was really nice to me, so i chose him xD It's been only 3 weeks but i love him so much already. I always smile and feel happy whenever i look at him  Well that's my little story ^^ i hope to meet new friends and learn more about chinchillas from you guys

That is such a cute name,haven't heard that one used yet.

Yes chins have accidents just like any animal. I have one who lost her tail, cat fight I call it. LOL
Year ago, still have her she's about 15 now.

Have had some bad one too, lost one who thought he could fly.

Their so quick, and tend not to look where they leap.

Congrats on your little furball, no it doesn't take long to fall head over heals for them.
