i have a chin that i have had now for a year and a half my wife the other day decided to get another male chin for petco witch is 3-4 months old they get along good but i noticed that the new one has smelly soft stool and  just yesturday i had my older one out playing now his stool is soft do u think the new one has a parasite?

You need to get their stool tested immediately.I could be a parasite.
When you get a new chin you should quarantine them for 30 days to make sure they don't have anything.
Now that being said lets try and get your boys healthy.Call your vet and tell them whats going on the sooner the better.
If it is a parasite and it sounds like it may be Giardia,you want to treat them and start cleaning everything like crazy.
Make sure you wash your hands after touching them till you know whats going on to protect yourself.
Soft stool can be from stress,but if it's smelly it is a sign of parasites.

my wife is goin to take them to da vet today thanx for the info i will let u know what they say when i hear from the vet.

status report the vet thinks it is Giardia so she putting them on meds for it till the test results come back so now that i know that they have it wat do i have to do to the cage i know for sure clean every thing in the cage but wat about there wood houses and the these lava rock ledges i had bought for them.

Anything that is porous and can not be fully disinfected should be thrown out and replaced.  And remember you can get it too so wash your hands after handling the chinchillas.
