Hi from France
« on: January 17, 2010, 08:46:25 AM »

Hi everyone.
My name is Tony, I'm 26 years old and live in Tours in France
I know chinchillas since 2003. I have 18 chinchillas, 7 guinea pigs, 2 rabbits, 2 degus, 1 rat, 3 cats, 2 dogs and 4 roseicollis.
I'm on your forum to see what happens beyond my borders.
In France, I am the founder of a forum like this dedicated to chinchilla.
I'm really not top in English, so forgive me.
Now I'll get the place where I can show you my little company.

Hi there Tony, so nice to have you here.
So are you breeding you chins?
Are they a popular pet in your neck of the woods?
I'm way over here in Newfoundland Canada, ::wave::

Some one of my chins to reproduce but not all because of the 18 currently at home are far from rescue.
In France the chin knows momentum of his popularity in recent years but not without difficulty. Unfortunately many people want to engage in reproduction when there knows anything.
In France I am the founder of a forum on the chinchilla or we try to communicate our passion for people that do not be silly, but it is sometimes difficult especially when you see the ads.
Beside that I also benefit from an association that collects, treats, educates and passed the animals that we foster.

Can you tell me where i can put pictures of my chins ?

Sad to say, sounds the same all over the world.

Chinchillas are just so, so cute that many people get carried away here was well. Some breed accidentally, while others just put 2 a cage to see what happens. :(
Many are definitely uneducated on the matter. ::scaredspeachless::   Yes that's scary!
And there are those that think you can a make good money breeding   ::tickedoff:: Those are the worst for they put the dollar above the well being of the animals.

Sounds like they ,the chinchillas, are lucky to have you in France.
I'm sure we can learn lots from each other.

Many here are gone to a show this weekend,we'll hear all about it when they get back.
 ::thumbsup::

Hi Tony,
Welcome to the forum.  I look forward to getting to know you.  Thanks for the pictures.  You have some beautiful chinchillas.  I love Schillick's curly tail.

It's got the only peculiarity of Schillick, in fact, it seems to be hermaphroditic. Normally I have to bring it to the vet soon because she has no vaginal orifice, but everything is stuck as a female. My vet says he / she is a mystery of nature. We will very soon so it

Now that's very interesting, and the first time I've heard of that. See we learn something new everyday.

I love Gilbert, so he has "NO" eyes, that's what it looks like in the photo. Awww the little darling.

And your white tans are awesome. That Nasqia is so handsome.
Thanks for sharing.

Hermaphroditism exists in all living species but hey we'll see very soon (in March / April I think).
Oh my whites tan, I love my girls, and finally I absolutely love them all.

That's a new one on me, too, Debbie.  I Googled it and got more information.

Me too Jo Ann  ;)

After seeing conjoined twins nothing surprises me.

Yes Tony anything is possible with chins as well. Some things we just see so very little of in Chinchillas, if ever at all. ::nod::

Since the last time I rescue for beige homo chinchillas  2mothers and their kids. One of  her put low Monday but had no milk to feed him. Fortunately, another female had put low on Saturdays and in thus adopted the kits.
That was stressful for me because the adoptive mom is generally a pitbull LOL
The tow kids are tan homo and beige homo  ;)
