I am working to get a chin! Don`t have one yet, though. And I am not really sure if Petco is a US store only. (I have never left the US) Jessica L.

Interested in getting some Great Education on chinchillas?  We are having a meeting in Helen, GA on June the 6th to kick start a new unit of the Empress Chinchilla Breeders Cooperative.  There is no cost for this meeting except for your own travel expenses.

We will be having Ralph and Barbara Shoots as an added benefit for those attending.  The Shoots are lifetime breeders and some of the most knowledgeable people in the business.  Check them out at www.shootschinchilla.com.

Helen, Ga is a neat town and the cabin we have reserved for the meeting is very nice and located right in the downtown area. If you can take the time out, if you can make the trip, please come. I know you'll be glad you did!

   You can learn in one day, with the Shoots, what it would take you months to learn frpm the internet and in books.  With the Shoots, you know the information you are getting is correct.  There's nothing like going to a meeting or show ... "the hands-on experience" is one that teaches you the most.  Ralph and Barbara Shoots have probably forgotten more than what most of us have learned about chinchillas.   They are the professionals when it comes to chinchillas.

   If, for some reason you can not make this meeting ... in Helen, GA on the 6th ... would be about a 5 hour drive for you ... find out when the next meeting is and/or find out where (what shows and field days) the Shoots will be during the summer.  This could really get you started on the right foot with your new chin.       I have learned something new at each and every meeting/field day/show that I have attended.

Thanks for letting me know about this meeting, but my dad said that I couldn`t go down there. He would have to drive me. he would not be happy cooped up in a car with me! I am noisy and annoying! I`ll have to see where and when I could go.                                         Jessica L.
