Have you looked at this:

http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=252

It's for SMF 1.1 but if you make a request, someone might make it compatible with 1.0.7.

Fluffy your cage is brillant, well done to you and your brother, i like the design you did in your cage, is that a apple tree branch bought from a shop or did you get it off a tree, still bet your chin has loads of fun with the shelves ect. How tall is it??

I have made so many over the years, living and learning what works.
This is the simplest to make but not suited for in your home, more for chin rooms and such.

Fill them with pine houses and stuff and it's party time.

well they did they loved it but when I moved I hade to put it through the sliding doors and it wouldn't fit in the new doorway home so it is over my brother for now until after he gets back from vacation and is able to cut it down it is about 5'5" I am 5'4" and it is just a smidgen taller than me and I have them in their old cage the 2 1/2 story ones I hate those cages

I enjoyed looking at people's cages so I thought I'd kickstart this again.
Until recently, all my shelves and floors were wire but my mammy chinchillas feet were starting to look a little red and sore, probably from years on this type of flooring. I've put off the change to wood shelves for too long as 1: I don't have a car and it's difficult enough to transport the material and 2: I'm terrified of getting unsafe wood. I set aside this morning for it and my mum lent me her car. I think I annoyed the shop manager by interrogating him about the processes involved in the production his pine boards!
We're just finished installing the new shelves and flooring and they look great. It wasn't half as tough as I thought it would be to cut them to size and install them. Below are pictures of my furry friend's new pimped out pads!

Not been around for a while.

This is my converted parrot cage. Home to four. ::silly::
The wire floor has now been taken out and they just have the metal tray. I made all the shelves with untreated pine shelves from a DIY store. It was about 20 to do the whole cage. They're fitted with screws and washers. They just about need replacing now due to being eaten. I think it's been two years so not bad going.
