Just wondering what other people named their Chinchillas. I am wanting to name mine when i get them Stewie and Bryan. I don't know if you've seen the show Family Guy but that is where i got the names.


So what are your chinchillas named?

Clyde (Standard male), Avra (Black Velvet female), Kent (Standard male), Kalli (Mosaic female), Z (Mosaic male), Mabel (Black Velvet female), Harold (Beige male), Henna (Dark Tan female), Nougat (Homozygous Light Tan male), Gwyn (Mosaic female), Flower (TOV Mosaic male), Lenga (Medium Tan female), Delilah (Dark Ebony female), and Kora (Ebony White female).

I have a Tan White male that I've decided to keep, but I haven't decided on a name for him yet.

For the chins I've had who have passed, there was Johan (Light Tan male), Bonnie (Standard female), Koontz (Dark Ebony male), Krishna (TOV Dark Ebony male), Radha (Ebony female), Sage (Beige male), Sepia (Beige female), Zeus (Homozygous Beige Violet male), Hera (TOV Mosaic female), and Kuma (Dark Ebony male).

And, of course, there have been many many many babies, some of whom I named and others that I didn't so that their new mom and/or dad could decide on the perfect name.

Cheech and Chong (From the films)

My boyfriend named Cheech, seeing as she belongs to him and he chose Cheech because it's cute and the guy she's named after is Mexican and it's pretty close to Chile, land of the Chins. We thought she was a boy when we got her, hence her being named after one, and Chong (my Chinnie) was named after Cheech's partner in the films. I would have picked another name but I couldn't pass up on the chance to give them matching ones. Otherwise he would have been called Stitch or Chewy.

Jenova- I never would have payed attention to that character before.. but now you bring that up it does kind of look like a chin. Thats too funny. My son never really watched that movie- but I do know the one you are talking about.

I have one Standard Female named Pixel. She was Pixie when we got her, but we thought she was too moody for a Pixie, so she became Pixel.

I have one chin...he*s a standard male as well..His name is Roo..It was going to be Mr. Whiskers [[ ive called him that for years-before i got Roo ]] (( hints how long i*ve wanted one ))He*s always jumping around so i thought Roo was alittle more suttable for the lil guy

BrightEyed - I love cartoons, it's my not so secret shame. If I had my way all my pets would be named after cartoon characters, so far I only named the rabbit though.

I enjoy watching the disney movies with my son and my fiance and I have watched a few when he was away well, they aren't all disney.. they are cute movies tho.

My husband, Jim, named my last kits....they were triplets....George (Jones), Hank (Williams), and Tammy (Wynette).  You can tell he likes country music.

My chins names are Peaka(dark color with gray tummy) and Pooka (my ebony female). And if they ever have a baby, one will be named Pookie. After Garfields teddy.

I have Miss Riley (the teacher on October Sky) and one of her babies will be named Sputnick , Frank (Sonatra- 'old blue eyes'), Weeza (from Steal Magnolias), and Oswald is an octopus in a childrens cartoon.
