Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say hello and that I'm happy to be here.  I've owned chinchillas for several years now but just recently started breeding.  I work for a veterinary clinic as a receptionist but I'm going back to school to be a vet tech.  I love animals so much. Smiley I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Welcome, Jessica. How many and what kinds of chins do you have?? I would love to be a vet tech.. there are some programs (2 year I think) around here I am looking into. Most at community colleges. What kind of program are you going into and what kind of prior schooling does it require?

Welcome, Jessica!  I got my degree in Veterinary Technology this past May and I couldn't be happier!  Best of luck in your schooling and don't hesitate to come to me with any questions you may have.  I'm more than happy to help!  The program is intense, but I'm sure you'll find it incredibly rewarding.   grin

Aww, thanks everyone.  As far as my chins go, I have 8 of them.  So far I have a violet female and a standard female.  Those are my only 2 females and then I have the boys.  A mosaic, tan and a white eb.  I also have a standard grey male kit thats 8wks.  Last but not least, I have my rescue pair, who are both fixed and live together.

As far as the vet tech program.  I'm doing the online program from Penn Foster College.  It's a 2 yr program.  It doesn't require any previous schooling, just a high school diploma.

You have a good varitey of colors. We love pictures so whenever you can make an album and share it, go right ahead  Smiley

That program sounds good. Just like the ones down here. There is NC State's Vet School which is harder to get into and has all levels of vet practices that is very well known. My son is 5 now and in public school so I can finally get back into things.
