This wheel is way too flimsy and unsturdy for an active chinchilla. The wheel moved all around the cage when my chin was running on it and knocked down too easily. Plus it's plastic, which is a chin no-no! I'd recommend investing in something more sturdy and life-long reliable like the silver surfer. The silver surfer IS expensive but you'd only have to buy one over several years instead of several of these.

I wasted $90 Bucks on these before I switched to the silver surfer wheel. My boys broke 3 of these suckers. One in fact was broken within 2 days!

One of my chins is a demon wheel runner. My first one did fell apart after 4 months of use. We called Superpet and they told us to return it to the pet store where we got it. After wrangling with the people at the pet store(Petco) we did get us another of the same wheel. We had it for 6 months now,but I feel to be safe I'm looking for a metal one,because my chin is a bit rough with the wheel.

I'm writing about the silent spinner again, and my chin loves it! It took him a little while to figure out how to work it, and it gets so fast that sometimes he has to stop it, but he even taught his girlfriend how to use it.

MY CHINCHILLA LOVES THIS! SHES OBSESSED WITH IT. DO NOT GET THE SILENT SPINNER WHEEL THEY ARE GARBAGE SHE BROKE TWO OF THEM AFTER NOT EVEN 3 HOURS BUT THIS ONE SHES HAD ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW AND HASNT BROKE.
