I think this is a crappy cage for chinchillas, even for just a single chin. It is too small, with only the 2 shelves for them to jump on. It is not large enough to accomodate an exercise wheel or many chew toys. Plus, when I bought mine, the clamps used to hold it together were plastic, which my chin promptly chewed off. Crappy, crappy, crappy.

I really liked this cage when i first purchased it. I put the cage high atop a cabinet to keep it away from my one year old cat. Two days after getting my baby chin I discovered my cat had jumped up, attached himself to the side of the cage and reached through slicing my chins ear. I give this cage and all super pet cages low ratings for having too wide of a gap in between the wires. Not recomended for cat owners.

I think this is a great cage and the perfect size to fit one chinchilla. All you have to do is vacume out the poop and bedding with a shop vac. Then, without removing anything, scrub the shelves with soap and water. The bath house also comes with a plug so you can control when your chin takes baths. It has plenty of room to fit several accessories and toys for your chin and even comes with a leap n' ledge! The only trouble I have with it is when the bedding sometimes gets scattered on the floor, but that's not a big deal.

Just to update my last review-
This is not a very good cage. It comes with everything, which I guess is good for first time pet owners because with only one stop, they can get everything they need to take care of their chin. But there are a lot of other cages that are better made and will last longer than a SuperPet cage. Custom cages can be made to suit your exact specifications, whereas SuperPet cages are mass marketed and are designed to appeal to as many pet owners as possible. As a result of this, they're very generic and rather boring designs. Martin's Cages look good too although I've never had any myself.

I forgot to mention the ease of cleaning this cage provides! Some people complain of it being hard to clean and I don't undersatnd it, it's simple: Use a ShopVac or similair vaccuum to clean the feces off the shelves and you can even use the vaccuum to suck up all of the bedding in the bottom as long as you be sure not to suck up hay as this will clog the vaccuum. Only thing is, be sure to empty your vaccuum's canister after you are finished.
